November 23, 2003: I trimmed the notches out of these ribs so that the reinforcement spar can slip under them.

November 24, 2003: Ok, I goofed again...seeesh! Apparently and I can't determine the proper diameter of the ends of the reinforcment spars and I violated the enge distance rules. I also made sure to properly label the bad parts. While wainting for the replacements, I was still able to use them to continue building.

November 24, 2003: A look into the setup. The kerosene heater works great! I work very comfortably when it's freezing out side (40's)!

November 26, 2003: New spars with the proper diameter ends. Measured three times to make sure!

November 26, 2003: A lot of work goes into filing down the spars. I used a vixen file. A band saw would have been nice for the rought cut followed by the vixen file.

November 26, 2003: You need to bend the spars up 6 deg. I made sure to use a piece of plate steel with a radiused edge while held in place with the C-clamp.

November 26, 2003: Starting work on the VS.

November 26, 2003: First exersize in fluting - this straightens out the ribs since they bow during manufacturing. I had to premark the rivet holes so that I'd know where to put the flutes.

November 26, 2003: Now that the rib has been flattened out, I marked the center of the rib. The line will appear in the rivet holes and will ensure proper fit with the skins.
